Impromptu Photo Shoot

A few nights ago we were invited to have dinner at Mark and Iza's. They are an awesome couple we know from church. They have a precious 6 month old little girl named Kennedy. We had and AMAZING dinner and afterward, I sensed a good opportunity to bust out my camera. I was right...

Sweet Kennedy playing with her feet while watching Baby Einstein.

Such a happy baby. :)

Daddy's little girl. This is when Kennedy discovered that the camera was there for her.
How cute is she!
Really cute.
Baby feet are awesome.
Kennedy was loving it at this point.

Tuckered out.

Good Customer Service

For those of you that don't know this about me, I have a sunglasses fetish. It has gotten a little better over the years but it still exists. My all time favorite sunglasses were made by Hoven. These sunglasses mysteriously disappeared several years ago. Hoven has since stopped making this particular model and I have been unable to find another pair like it. A few days ago, after searching the internet high and low, I sent a desperate email to people at Hoven Vision. They confirmed that they still had a small inventory of the sunglasses I have been seeking and could send some my way. I am really excited. Thank you, Hoven. You now have a life-long customer.

Good customer service experiences like this are rare these days. Typically it is torture for me to try to accomplish even the smallest task with most businesses. I especially abhor those automated systems that are supposed to understand what you're saying. A few minutes on the phone with that and I usually turn into "The Hulk." Today was an exception. Thank you to all the businesses out there who keep their customers happy by providing timely and efficient services.

Me sportin my Hoven shades and a lot more hair back in 2006.

Hoven makes stylish and durable sunglasses at prices that won't break the bank. Check em out.

So much to look forward to...

One of the things I learned about myself a long time ago is that I need something to look forward to, something to be excited about. Something small like a brand new episode of "30 Rock" or a Saturday morning trip to the farmer's market with my wife can get me through a tough day or even a tough week. Counting down an upcoming vacation can keep me out of a "rut" for months. As the sun sets on my first deployment I thank God for giving me so much to look forward to. Here is a partial list of the large, the small, the near, and the far in no particular order:

--Seeing my wife again after 7 long months, kissing her, and rubbing her belly.

--Witnessing the miracle of childbirth when Hannah comes in to the world.

--A round of golf with my Dad when he and his new bride come to visit.

--An entire bag of really buttery popcorn

--Christmas!!!

--Walking Sgt. Pepper without a leash.

--Cheeseburger Wednesday

--My first ever Neff  Family Reunion.

...and there is so much more. I could go on forever. What are you excited about?
